Hello Everyone,
This course is now coming to an end, as this is my last blog
post about ADED. However, don’t worry, this will not be my last blog post. I am
planning to continue to blog about my weekly or monthly experiences and any new
digital tools that I come across and may want to share with you all. This class
has been a huge building block in expanding my digital knowledge and I am very
happy I chose to take it as one of my electives. I hope my blogs have been
interesting and beneficial to you all and I am glad I got to read my classmates
thoughts on their digital journey. This class has enlightened me about all our
digital world has to offer and brought a whole new perspective to my learning.
Looking back at when I first learned about my own digital footprint and how important it is to act as an appropriate digital citizen. As weeks progressed I really did grow, as a digital citizen leaving what I believe is a positive digital footprint behind. The knowledge that I have gained from this course will most definitely be a secure foundation for my education and social journey as I move forward. When you Google my name, you will likely find my Facebook profile and maybe some pictures that I have posted on the internet (All appropriate of course). I have learned that social media is very influential on today’s society and how important it is to follow your digital rights and responsibilities to pertain your positive footprint. For anyone who has not got to read my first few posts in this course, take my word that you have to be very carful what you put on to the internet, “ just because you deleted it does not mean that is deleted for good”.
I would now definitely consider myself a digital citizen and
make sure you remember the rights and responsibilities that you have to being
one. Since you guys didn’t get to see what my top 3 rights were to being a citizen
I thought I would share them with you before I go. Make sure you always cite
your work, always check your privacy settings as you have a right to only let people
see what you want them to see, and make sure that you are respectful to others.
REMEMBER THE GOLDEN RULE: treat others the way you want to be treated.
Thank you all for following my blog, and I will keep you updated
on whats in store for my near future!
Jess
